Just like you said, everyone should make the decision to pay or not depending on their usage and what works for them.

You’re right, on sites like the New York Times we pay a subscription only for reading . It would be very hard to get our story published there unless we were a well established writer or journalist like you. But Medium allows every day regular people like me try their hand at it , publish with relative ease and earn.

Yes, in the end whether it’s the New York Times or Medium, our writing has to wow the audience and we can’t blame anyone else for it bombing.
