I feel it’s not fair for members to demand non members to do anything. At the end of the day it’s their choice and their business, if they want to pay or not.

Even if we don’t get paid when a non member reads our story, it still is being read and that means something to me. It’s better than no one reading it.

Medium will keep evolving and modifying it’s strategies to maximize membership and profit . Medium is now removing people from the Partner Program if they do not have 100 followers by March. Similarly they might increase the membership fees or reduce their payout. Whatever their plan is, they will make sure that their bottom line isn’t affected.

So we don’t have to worry about Medium getting ripped off by non members.
