Deborah, this is heartbreaking to read. More so especially because he never acknowledged what he did to you and you didn’t get any justice.

It justs reminds me so much of the Michael Jackson case where he groomed those children by continuously telling them how he loved them and that made it okay. If you are a kid, of course, you are going to gravitate to someone who is making you feel loved an special. Even an adult would do that.

While some abusers are really heartless and violent, Michael Jackson’s victims say that he was the kindest and gentlest person they knew. In their mind, he had done nothing wrong to them because he loved them. This protected MJ. They would never be able to accuse him because he treated them with such kindness. They felt guilty speaking anything bad about him.

I think this is a very important thing that kids should know. That kindness/gifts/love doesn't make abuse okay. They just enable abuse. Abuse is wrong no matter what. Your body belongs to you.
